The two-day STD Intensive Course is intended for New York State Clinicians (MDs, DOs, NPs, RNs, PAs) working in STD Clinics, primary care, community health centers, OB-GYN, family planning, or other outpatient clinical settings.
Topics in the course include: STD-HIV Inter-relationship; Gonococcal and Chlamydial Infections; Common STD Syndromes; Vaginitis; Syphilis; Genital Herpes Simplex Virus Infection; and Taking a Sexual History and Behavioral Risk Assessment.
Review of newly released CDC STD Treatment Guidelines
Diagnosis & treatment of bacterial and viral STDs
New STD test technologies including test performance characteristics and interpretation of results
Sexual history taking, behavioral risk assessment & behavior change counseling of clients with STDs including HIV
Earn 7 CME/CNE credits
Clinical and laboratory experience in a busy, urban STD clinic, with an experienced clinical preceptor
